I don't have to stand outside in the coastal mist clutching my dad's laptop to my chest and peering through the windows of a not yet open coffee shop. I got (lousy dial-up) internet anytime I want it, and I make a damn fine cup of coffee, too.
I get to sleep in my own bed, alone.
This is going to sound horrible, but I get to turn the kidlet over to some other folks for a good part of the day. After being with him virtually 24/7 for the past week, I need a break. I bow down in amazement to folks who stay home with their kids all the time. I don't know how you manage it.
Don't feel bad. my mom was just here for 2 weeks. Any chance me and Nic got we bolted out of the house.

I think it's okay to admit it's nice to have a babysitter.
The way we raise kids today isn't normal -- for thousands of years we lived in extended family and village contexts, and mothers *didn't* do all the caretaking all the time. Mothers do more kidwork now than they did in the "bad old days."
