more on loneliness

From Natalie Goldberg's Wild Mind--she is talking to her teacher Katagiri Roshi about the loneliness of writing:

"Anything you do deeply is very lonely.  There are many Zen students here, but the ones that are going deep are very lonely."

"Are you lonely?" I asked him.

"Of course, he answered. "But I do not let it toss me away.  It is just loneliness."

everybody is different, I guess-- for me the deeper I get into the natural world the deeper the hum of the universe and how vast it is . . . btw, I am so with you on the Ayelet nyt article-- gah---
