I was prepared to get excited about Fucktard wanting to appoint a Latino to the Attorney General's post, but then I read this in the NYTimes today:

Anybody else think this font is too small?
Is this one better?
I'd prefer something in between, but then I'd have to hand code it myself, and that's not likely.

Not only is it a nation divided, but here in Washington, we've got a state divided, too.  We still don't have a governor.  For me, it was a case of yet another uninspiring Democrat up against a smooth operator of a Republican.  It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

uncool

It's official:  I have become completely old and uncool because I couldn't sit through Jim Jarmusch's Coffee and Cigarettes. It was so awful. Sorry, Jim, but throwing a bunch of people together and having them drink coffee and smoke does not, I repeat NOT make a good movie, no matter how hip those people are, or how nicely you photograph them. It was unbearable, I couldn't wait to turn it off. And for the record it's not that I just don't get Jim Jarmusch, I loved Mystery Train among others--it's just a bad movie.

Do you think America'll be ready for a Clinton/Obama ticket in 2008? 

Strange things have been happening in my work life lately; I'm actually beginning to have some fun. With the departure of my supervisor this past summer, I inherited her duties, if not her title. At first, I was horrified by this situation, but now I can see it's been a blessing in disguise. While I'm far more stressed out, my brain is engaged, and it makes all the difference in the world. They're still yanking me along with the vaguest of possibilities that I might get the title, or I might get a wee raise, but they did finally toss one perk at me--an office. That's right folks, I have a door, and walls that go all the way to the ceiling. I can shoo people away or invite them in at my caprice. I can slam the door when I'm angry, or stare out the window wistfully when I'm sad. Best of all is that I don't have to listen to every damn conversation, cough, giggle, cell phone ring tone, tappity-tap, or squeaky chair rolling around of my neighbors.

a man distracted

Please allow me to introduce you to a new blog called A Man Distracted. It is written by a man who I met online when I wrote him about a provocative comment he made on someone else's blog (ErosBlog, perhaps). That was in March, and we've been corresponding regularly ever since. It started as a flirtation, then deepened into a trading of erotic stories and true-life ups and downs, and finally has blossomed into a friendship. I find him utterly delightful, and I'm sure you will too, whether or not you approve of his behavior.

A small caveat: though not a sex blog per se he does write graphically about sex.
