Been thinking about what it means to be a fool. Is the fool innocent or wise? What have you done to make a fool of yourself? Ever been a fool for love? Here's an explanation of the Tarot card The Fool: "In modern Tarot, the Fool represents being carefree, impulsive, spontaneous, enthusiastic, and frivolous. The Fool steps out into the unknown without fear or caution. He isn't brave, but he has no fear. He is the universal innocent but he is also wise. He is the rule-breaker, the person who lives without rules. He is very close to his own body and experiences his physical sensations fully."* I feel a real affinity with the fool, not just due to current circumstances, but in general over the course of my life. So, welcome April, welcome Spring and new beginnings, welcome to the stepping out into the unknown. I've lept off the cliff, landed hard, and survived to tell the tale. Won't keep me from jumping next time I come to the edge. Not a chance.
*Tarot description by Nina Lee Braden
Now this is strange... yesterday when writing my blog for the day, I visted a site with Tarot cards and looked at the one for "Rebirth". Then, I find Ms. Nina and her "Fool" Tarot card. Coincidence or fate? You be the judge *grin*

As a slave to corporate America, you may be interested to know (or know already)that the Corporate Fool is concept that's been knocking around for a while...
'Fools pinpoint absurdity by acting out the absurd. They act as a mirror in which people see their mistakes without having to admit to them. This enables Fools to challenge accepted wisdom and create new alternatives. As such, they're entrusted with the sensitive task of managing and controlling change." (Firth, author of The Corporate Fool)
Organisations thrive on conventional thinking, even within the rhetoric of an ‘innovation culture’. The Fool is a role model who has lots of experience of thinking and acting in an unconventional way. He is ever entwined with creativity and play. His sublime humour and sense of the ridiculous helps us sustain paradox and ambiguity. As an agent of chaos, his challenges and jibes prevent us settling down to a stable and stagnant ‘equilibrium’ state.
Anyway, if you feel affinity to the Fool, take care to develop and hone your Foolish tendencies. You'll be doing yourself and those around you a big big favour. All the best!
