It has been noted that I like to eat Dutch Baby pancakes, but I've never actually made one for myself. In celebration of Easter, and spring, and of my continuing to be really brave and take action for myself (perhaps I'll post about that in more detail later), I decided to see if I could create that most magical of breakfast pastries. It was easy and, as you can see, so delicious that I had to eat about half of it before I could stop long enough to shoot a foto. I had no idea they were so simple. I even made it easier and just whisked the ingredients by hand instead of in the blender as the recipe states. They are traditionally served with lemon juice and powedered sugar, which is delightful, but I like to add a drizzle of maple syrup, too. The lemon maple combination is especially tasty.
Other things that have given rise to gluttony lately:
Kettle brand honey dijon potato chips.
Little foil covered Butterfinger chocolate eggs. These are much different from the candy bar in that it is mostly chocolate with little bits of the crunchy stuff sprinked throughout; a much better proportion of ingredients for my taste (and teeth).
Raspberry yogurt pretzels
Isn't it amazing that something so delectable can be so simple to make? Yum.

You mean those honey dijon chips? They're delectable all right but I don't know how to make them. I've found some organic ones in Canada though, so I'm pretty sure they're actually making me healthier.

I have never had a Dutch baby pancake and now must find ot all about them.
I do have to say, though, that when I am crazy about something i sometimes INTENTIONALLY do not learn to make it. Like Creme Brulee. I was given a torch as a gift by someone who knows how much I love it and how much I love to cook and all I can think is, "NO! back eveil demon Creme Brulee tool!" because if I learn to make it, I WILL. All the time. That's what happened when I learned to make popovers. I made them every other day for weeks... using the excuse that I had to perfect the recipe.
