Oh, how I wish all of you lived here in PT. Because if you did, I would make sure you had a copy of this Wednesday's Leader in your hot little hands. You might think that you care not about the local events of this fair town, nor how they get reported in our highly esteemed weekly paper, but consider this: the forthcoming issue will contain a story by none other than your faithful blogger.
I'm very happy to report that I've become a reporter. Well, kinda sorta. I'm still trying on this new identity, but I must confess that I like it. Another story of mine will appear this week or maybe next, a story about a mother/daughter acting duo that is appearing in a local production of "Tartuffe." Last Saturday, I was asked to attend the Step It Up rally here in town on behalf of the paper, and it was blast being there with my handy dandy little digital voice recorder asking folks questions and thinking about how I was going to write it all up. If all goes well, you'll be seeing articles by me in The New Yorker sometime next year. Ha! Well, a girl can dream, can't she?
If the piece shows up in the online edition of the paper, I'll be sure to link it, but I really wish I could invite you to coffee and we could sit there sipping java and getting ink on our fingers as we read through the news of day, some of which I had a small part in creating.
Updated to add: D'oh! It's bankers that have the green eye shades isn't it? What do reporters wear? A Fedora with something stuck in the hatband? Yeah, so that's what I've got, one of those, or something reportly.
