You know how on Live Journal and places where the young 'uns blog they often have mood stamps and places to say what they're listening to when they post? Well, I need a feature that highlights what coffee I'm drinking. Because I know that y'all can't possibly get through your day without knowing what sort of caffeinated beverage I'm imbibing. For the record, right this very minute, I'm enjoying a big fat mug of this. Which leads me to believe that perhaps I need to buy Maggie Mason's new book, which is entitled No One Cares What You Had for Lunch: 100 Ideas for Your Blog. But that's silly, you folks care about the coffee, I know you do! It matters to you that Yirgacheffe is one of my favorites, that this is some of the best coffee I've ever had. I love turning over my little bag of beans and seeing that they were roasted on September 5th (I bought them on the 10th). Because, my little buttercups, the secret to good coffee is getting expertly roasted beans when they're fresh.
And now, because I'm feeling shamed by Mighty Girl herself I will show you this hilarious foto of some renegade knitting street art:
This was taken through the windshield of my car while I was waiting at a stoplight, so it's not the greatest foto, but what you are gazing at is what can only be described as a cozy. For the monorail. It's swaths of knitting sewn together and wrapped around that post. I've read about this new crazy trend of knitters taking their scraps and displaying them in public spaces rather like graffiti. My googling for more info has been fruitless, but apparently Seattle is a hotbed of radical textile activity, as I've seen other less spectacular displays around town. Keep warm, little monorail post!
There is a post box on East Olive Way that I frequent that often sports new socks.
