Many of my friends, both online and in real life are enjoying some wonderful successes now. New jobs, great writing projects, dreams coming true. This thrills me, encourages me, and scares me, all at the same time. If these folks are my friends--my peers--and they're doing so well, then doesn't that mean that I can do well, too? Doesn't that mean that I'd better? I don't want to be left behind, and worse, forgotten by them, no longer interesting. I hope their accomplishments continue to inspire me to push forward, bit by bit each day, with the things that I dream about. I hope I'm up to it.
PS Go say congratulations to Colin on his book deal!

Hello, Ms. Club Mom? Have we forgotten who got some recognition -- with pay, yet! -- for her writing not so very long ago???

You're definitely up for it. Remember, nobody can tell you what will happen if you go for it, but anybody can tell you what will happen if you don't. A little cheesy, perhaps, but true.
